10 Ways The Inspired Office Organizes An Office
Recently, I discovered a website and blog that got my attention in a super helpful way—Kacy Paide’s Your Inspired Office. Kacy is a professional organizer who specializes in cleaning offices and homes from top to bottom.
She believes we’re happier with fewer, more meaningful things, than an abundance of organized things. It is her mission to deliver this to anyone who feels buried, but suspects that a lighter life is within reach.
A Professional Organizer since 2001, she has helped nearly 600 people find what they need, when they need it, freeing them to live fuller lives both in and out of the office.
In addition to working with individuals at home, she has also transformed offices at Ogilvy Public Relations, and various law firms and associations in her hometown of Washington, DC. She also has given over a dozen organizing and productivity presentations at The World Bank.
Here are 10 ways Kacy says you can organize your office.
Have an accountability buddy call you at an agreed-upon time to check on your cleaning progress.
Consolidate all office supplies. You’ll stop buying tape when you see that you have 6 rolls.
Keep a working shredder within arm’s reach.
Eliminate anything that is not useful or beautiful.
Write out a positive affirmation starting with “I am so happy and grateful now that …” and post it on your wall or computer.
Display a picture from the happiest moment of your life.
Bring in some Ooh Aah factor. This can be a Lucite side chair or a piece of fine art.
Use an app such as Genius Scan to scan docs as pdfs with your phone.
Use the back of your door for storage. Shoe caddies work well for small supplies.
Feeling overwhelmed? Set very small goals for yourself, such as “Toss 10 pieces of paper.”
